Some Good Old Memories - Visit To Amritsar

Golden Temple

After The trip of Himachal Pradesh our next stop was Punjab, Amritsar. A very wonderful place with full of traditional people and good LASSI.I cant forget the one glass of lassi that we had in Amritsar, it was the most amazing taste. We mainly had three hot spots here GOLDEN TEMPLE, WAGHA BORDER & JALLIANWALA BAGH.

         

Jalianwala Bagh

                                        Our first visit was to Jallianwala Bagh also known as Amritsar massacre. Both Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh are near by to each other. I remember all i read in my history books about Jallianwala Bagh.On Sunday April 13, 1919, which happened to be 'Baisakhi', one of Punjab's largest religious festivals, fifty British Indian Army soldiers, commanded by Dyer, began shooting at an unarmed gathering of men, women, and children without warning.Such a tragic event ,there is an art gallery which describes the event that happened there. Still we can see the wall with the bullet marks on them, which were enlightened and now its a peaceful garden. There is a well in the Garden in which many women and children jumped during the tragic event, it is sealed but we can see it.It was such an honor to see such a place and experience to be at such a place.

 After the visit of Jallianwala Bagh , we were headed to Golden Temple. It is one of the beautiful temples in India. Temple is located right in center of the pond, there were big big fishes in the pond also.As each place in India has history,this temple also has. There is a painting which depicts an warrior with no head.There was a huge rush for going in to the temple as we were short of time so we just took a round around the temple and came out. But believe once you visit this place you will be thinking of coming more and more due to its peacefulness, atmosphere and those friendly people. It was a very good experience to know other cultures also. And one more important thing is you must wear a cloth on your head as Sikhs if not you wont be allowed to go in, there you will get those for free so not to worry.

Wagha Border

        Our final stop in Amritsar was Wagha Border.It is the border between India & Pakistan.There will be two gates one is of ours and other one is of there's.There, gates will be opened for a friendly handshakes, during this process each side some patriotic songs will be played. During that time we are allowed to dance in our side and support our side.As you can see me and my friend Adhokshaj are dancing. When you are there we will have a patriotic feeling which was so amazing to experience. On our side nearly thousands of people will come to support which makes us so happy to see and inspires us pretty much. And i thank god for making me an Indian. So proud to be one. In this way we spend nearly two hours of time there by watching all the show and had enjoyed a lot.

So our trip ended there for Punjab...

Some Good Old Memories - Visit to Himachal Pradesh(Bhir Bharmour)

 It was my first school trip to NORTH INDIA.I was studying my 8th class then. My first Excursion , as like every one i was pretty much excited.I was eager to go to other state and to take some rest from my regular boring study life.With us our faculty Mrs.VijayaLaxmi Madam came, i was very much affectionate with her, so i had no doubt that i will enjoy the trip. With us some 9th class students were also coming so we planned all what we were going to do there.They gave us our schedule about what were we going to see there and what all things that we had to pack for the trip. So i did some shopping and buyed some essential things and got ready for my trip. We were asked to report to the station directly, so dad came with me to drop .Got the train and everybody settled in there seats, the whole compartment was full of our gangs. It was just like a fish market even in night with all of us playing with WWF cards. We didnt sleep that night,but had lots of lots fun.

                 We arrived to the station the next day, from there to our camp locality we went on jeep's.After entering to the Base camp we were given time to fresh up and get ready for our trip.We were introduced to our Trainers or We can call as our escorts, they were young and full of  energy. From there our journey started in BHIR BHARMOUR. We had to cover nearly a 5-8 km a day by walk.We were given some materials like a Rucksack/backpack to carry all essential things with us,  Wind stopper jackets. So we have to carry them with us to every camp. So our journey started from there, as you can see in the pictures on your right side those were some pic taken during our complete TREKKING. As you can see the background the Greenery and the roads were so curvy, that was the first time that i saw those type of roads.

Waterfall Behind Me

Every thing was an surprise to me those roads how do they made them through mountains?Everything was just amazing to me as they are. Valleys were steep and the mountains were carved in different shapes, you can see those in some pics also. Waterfalls in between the roads was a thrill to watch, we used to stop when ever we saw a waterfall and spend a five minutes there by enjoying the beauty.  Can you guys find a waterfall in between the road? No, it happens only in India.And climate was also so good to us, very favorable for a nice day trekking.


 Trekking was one fun part of our trip, walking with friends those long distances, you know at that time there were no cell phones with friends so all were participating in discussions. We were very eager as we used to see the distance boards as still 3km to destination.

Rock Climbing &
Rappelling

                        Each Camp site was having something waiting for us there. Each site had some different activity for us. Activities like Rock Climbing, Rappelling, River Rafting and River Crossing. Every activity was awesome but we missed our River Rafting as water flow was dangerous.But the activities we were awesome we were doing those again and again, as we were small so we were taken to a smaller rock for Rock climbing and Rappelling . On the right side it is me doing the rock climbing, before doing our Trainer explained about the rock climbing and rappelling it was quite informative and while doing it that was the most Amazing feeling . Every body had there chance of doing and everybody enjoyed it.After those activities we returned to camp site and we were given tents to sleep with sleeping bags inside them. That was the first time i was sleeping in a tent and that too in a sleeping bag. We were too tired due to trekking and our activity so we slept calmly after a wonderful supper.




             

River Crossing

                            Next day we started for our next camp site, there our next activity was River Crossing, this was the best activity of all.It was so fun to cross a river,our trainer explained us how to cross a river and how to tie the knots etc and also said some precautions o be followed. Even our madam participated in it. It was so nice to see her crossing the river it gave all of us some confidence and joy.It reminded me something about MONKEY CRAWLING in Scout And Guide activity. It needed most of our energy to push ourselves to come across the river side.It was a difficult one and most adventurous one till now.

                    As we were done with that activity we returned to our camp. Our camp was near the water flow so all of us went to enjoy there. Water was very cold just like freezing cant even keep the foot even with shoe on it was so freezing. During day climate was moderate but during nights it was becoming very cold, so we decided to sleep two guys in one sleeping bag.Now when i think of that i feel funny. Here only we all took our Group Photo.We spent nearly one hour there and returned to our tents to sleep.We enjoyed a lot and most of the fun in night, some were telling ghost stories to others, some were busy in contacting there parents and telling what all we did till now, others were trying to sleep , me and my friend were outside enjoying the cold weather and just sharing about our views about the trip till now and saying our friends names who all missed this trip.

                  From there we started for our last camp site in Himachal Pradesh. There was the most amazing surprise waiting for us.We saw the GLACIERS there and my heart was pumping like anything after seeing them i never expected in my whole life that actually i will snow and walk on the glacier. It was just like my dream came true.On seeing the glacier we guys were out of control and wee so excited to keep our first foot on the glacier.Before we could step on it our Instructor said  precautions to be followed and was helping us out. I remember every was falling while walking on the glacier for the first time it was worth seeing scene. Even i also fell for two to three times. We walked down the glacier from top to bottom really a wonderful experience in life.That was our last camp site for us we returned from there as temperature is too low there so we returned back and were back to our base camp. After this wonderful experiences of playing,walking on glaciers, rock climbing & rappelling , river crossing and all the trekking we all felt so amazing.We also visited some temples in between those are in below pics.


         So a total of 25 km we covered in our trip while trekking.And some amazing moments with friends i had.From There our next stop was Amritsar Punjab. Was eager to go and see the Wagha Border ,Golden Temple and Jalianwala Bagh.

Standing In Cold Water

        If I would get a chance to visit Himachal Pradesh once again i would definitely like to visit Bhir Bharmour again and want to go through my memories of this place. Its my first place to visit with my friends and most amazing place to see and have such a good experiences of life. I am very Thankful to all those with whose support this trip was a huge success and all my friends for making this trip a sweet memory to me....

I Can Understand

My Dada , he was the king of our home , his words were our orders to be done .. Dada was working hard day and night in all weather , just to get us food on the plate all together... days when you had to skip your lunch , I know you were happy for filling our stomach brunch. but where were you when we needed you , you were away always camping and working hard. I always had a feeling of anger for you , when i was young and used to miss you, I know what all you have been through to keep us up , i just wanted you to know that i can understand..

My mom , you are the best mom i can ever have .. you the queen and we were like your soldiers .. you were like a  savior for us  from the rest of the world ...doesn't matter how old we are, we were always kids for you mom , I know world isn't fair , but you were always there to share ... you were always committed and dedicated towards us.. you were always there for me, to take the blame for me...there are no words to express how i feel ... i can just say #respect from my heart side..when I was low you were there for me and never left me alone because you cared for me .. There is no way i can pay you back , i just wanted you to know that i can understand


Bro when you were born , i did all the crazy things to just see you smile, you were the best part of my childhood memories, as we grew together i was frustrated for all the attention you were getting, tried to beat you when ever i can but now, when i think of all those i regret to myself and just wish we had much more fun together..I know all the sacrifices you made to keep me happy , all you wanted in return was brother's love,but all i did was to tease and fight with you. when ever you needed support you were looking for me, but i was long gone before you could see me , i know you have no more faith on me but give me another chance to relive as you brother .. i know what all you have been through, i just wanted you to know that i can understand..


My baby girl , You were the angel of my life, a god gift that i always wished for..i always thank god that he made me meet you .. you came in my life when i was low .. your words are my inspiration.. i appreciate how you took care of me and all the extra love you gave me.. i know you always wanted time with me but i was stuck up with work my baby ... i can assure that there ain't women that can take your place ... you were always a princess for me baby ... Always tried to keep u happy and smiling .. you always made miracles with your words baby girl.. all the time we spent together and the best time of my life .. i wish i can take the time away and stay in those moments with you..  For you, there's no replacement ,You will always be my baby girl ... I know what i put you through,  i just wanted you to know that i can understand..

Satisfaction

Once there lived very rich family in town, they had a maid who was very poor. She used to do all the house hold work like washing , cleaning utensils, all things you can name it . She used to wear torn clothes like we usually find in a poor family, she never cared how she looked or how she was dressed. All that mattered to her, was she able to complete the work or not. One peculiar thing about her was she used to sing when she was working all day long never used to get tired and some thing more strange was she always used to sing only one song .All day long she used to sing that song,it was about an orange color beautiful Saree. She used to describe its beauty and imagining what would she look like if she ever get a chance to wear that beautiful Saree, she used to sing about this in her song. Once a relative came to their house. She was a very good and kind hearted person. She was so amazed, to see a girl in those torn clothes not even bothered what others talk about her but is working so hard and singing a beautiful song about an orange Saree.There was a sense of curiosity in her mind.She has seen many people in her lifetime desiring for many things but even after achieving them they never get satisfied, they tend to desire more and more.So she wanted to test the girl, She wanted to know more about the desires of this girl so she waited for few more days. But she observed that the girl always sang about the same song describing an orange Saree. So she decided to gift an beautiful orange color Saree to the girl.
             The next day morning the girl came as usual to work and started working her routine. Relative presented her this Saree to her while leaving, she was so happy to see a such a wonderful Saree but she rejected it first but when relative forced her to take, she couldn't say no, so she accepted it. On that day she went home very happily singing the song loudly with all joy in the world in her face,relative was so curious to see what will she do with that Saree. Next day she came to the work in morning in the Saree gifted by relative with a beautiful smile. She started working and singing that i have a beautiful orange Saree and describing her feeling how she was feeling etc like the usual days .After the day's work she went home happily. Relative was expecting that from tomorrow onwards she will sing another song expressing her other desires and thinking what will she do tomorrow.The next day she saw the girl back in her old torn clothes singing about that beautiful orange Saree while doing her work.Relative was surprised to see her like that and was very happy for that girl. Then relative understood true meaning of SATISFACTION.

In life we see many people who desire for many things.. even when they get the most of the things in their life they wont get satisfied at all...but some people are happy with what they have.. they find there satisfaction in there own limitations

Moral : There is a pleasure in the experience of the word "Satisfaction". this is an eternal truth, here "mind" is the essential part to indicate pleasures and sorrows. If a person is happy and satisfied, his life will be peaceful and blissful

Beautiful

She was beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines. 

She was beautiful for the way she thought. 

She was beautiful for that sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved.

A Mortal's Plight

Some times i feel invincible ,
Some times i feel indestructible,
Feels like i can do anything....
Some times we make decisions without our consciousness..
always leading to believing godlessness..
Its summer time , why the hell am i still coding..
while others are enjoying..
we have these studies and its stress..
as if these are not enough ..
girl friend and her wishes to address..
i am always on a war with the pressure ,
just trying not to let in as i am a fresher...
these are enough to screw your world..
Now i never cry or complain..
started to accept life as it is the hurricane..
i don't need a doctor i don't need a check up..
just need to spend time with myself for a setup ..
I couldn't sleep, so i kept thinking,

A Chat With GOD

God: Hello, did you call me?

Me: Called you? No, who is this?

God: This is GOD. I heard your prayers so I thought I would chat.

Me: I do pray. It just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I'm in the Midst of something... Life has become hectic. It's rush hour all the time.

God: Well I want to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some clarity.

Me: Tell me, why has life become so complicated now?

God: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.

Me: Why are we then constantly unhappy?

God: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That is why you are not happy.

Me: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?

God: Uncertainty is inevitable but worrying is optional.

Me: But then there is so much pain due to uncertainty.

God: Pain is inevitable but suffering is optional.

Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?

God: Diamond cannot be polished without grinding/friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials but don't suffer. With that experience, their life becomes better, not bitter.

Me: You mean to say such experience is useful.

God: Yes in every term. Experience is a hard teacher. It gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.

Me: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can't we be free from Problems?

God: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons to Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.

Me: In tough times how do you stay motivated?

God: Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessings not what you are missing.

Me: What surprises you about people?

God: When they suffer they ask 'WHY ME?'. But when they prosper they NEVER ask 'WHY ME?' Everyone wishes to have truth on their side but few want to be on the side of the truth.

Me: How can I get the best out of life?

God: Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.

Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel that my prayers are not answered.

God: There are no 'unanswered' prayers, at times the answer is 'NO'.

SWILLING MOMENTS IN BIR-BARMAUR (MANALI)

Kullu Manali - A TREKKER'S PARADISE 
                

                           I consider it to be my proud privilege to have been included in the team of 15 students, selected for trekking programme at Bir-Barmaur in the mystique Himalayan ranges. It was a memorable and exhilarating experience to participate in river crossing, rappelling and trekking in which I covered a distance of about 15 kms. everyday.


RIVER CROSSING  
       A venture to cross all barriers. My hesitant clasp on the rope, turned into an expression of sheer joy when i saw the crystal clear waters cascade along in the gurgle of glee with an irresistible call to glide along with it to reach the rainbows , so I tightened my grip around the rope. I crossed the river in a dabble of delight.


ROCK CLIMBING
         It is zeal to press forward with careful steps. I set my eyes on the higher altitude. As i pressed forward for the final hold , my friend gripped my hand warmly and pulled me up. We hugged each other in triumphant smile sharing the feeling 'I'm on the top of the world'.


RAPPELLING
      It was the most beautiful cherishable experience, like the Bonanza worth a million dollars.


TREKKING
     It is celestial experience indeed. The up hill journey through the valley left me spell bound; We trekked making melody in our heart. We pressed forward with joy, shedding behind the load of tiredness. I was reminded of CHACHA NEHRU's favorite lines


'' THE WOODS ARE LOVELY DARK AND DEEP
      BUT I HAVE PROMISES TO KEEP
  AND MILES TO GO BEFORE I SLEEP

 WALK ON THE GLACIER
                 An Intransient imprint in the memory lane. The walk on the Glacier was a sublime experience, I had a joy unspeakable. I felt like sky is the limit. The trekking programme had been meticulously planned for 19 days covering 120 kms through mountains and valleys at higher  altitudes....

TAKING WINGS FOR RICH EXPERIENCE 
                Visiting places of historical importance, the Golden Temple, Jallianwalah Bagh, Wagha Border. The sanctity of golden temple calls for calm serenity and jallianwalah bagh is the silent monument of pratriotism embedded with in the walls echoing '' Swaraj Is My Birth Right''. I witnessed the flag lowering ceremony held simultaneously on both sides at Wagha border. We were inspired to sing patriotic songs in chorus with vigor. Our hearts were flooded with the message '' MERA BHARAT MAHAAN''...

Why do we fail even after so much of efforts we keep ?
Why do we succeed when some pressure is induced on us ?

Generally there are many factors that govern our success in our work, of those things two of the factors for achieving success are :
1.Never depend on your back up plans.
2.Throw the hat over the wall.

EXPLANATION OF POINT NO 1: Whenever we have a contingency / Back up plan we don't give our hundred percent in our work. We always relax that we have back up plans, but we don't realize that these plans make us lazy and reduces our efficiency in our work.

Consider a person who is in need of money. We can say he can try for a job & earn money as salary and back up plan would be taking as debt from friends. When you have such back up plans , most of us will be preferring the easy way of taking money from friends. Such a thought in mind always makes us lazy as when we go for interview we see so many candidates and thinks why to go through such a long process for money when easily available. Even if he gets the job he has to work hard and wait for his salary at the start of new month.He will not work efficiently as he has a option of friend giving  debt. So as less you can depend on back up plans  as good your life can be.

EXPLANATION OF POINT NO 2:Throw the hat over the wall -- it means when ever there is something important to you at stake you give your hundred percent in your work as you don't want to loose it.

There were two friends, who were going for playing with friends, they came across a big wall. They had  to cross the wall by climbing it over,there was no way around. One of the friend tried to climb the huge wall but didn't succeed even after several attempts. He decided to return back, then the other friend took his hat and threw it to the other side of wall. He then said, "now if you want the hat of yours, you have to climb the wall".
He know if he returns home without hat, his mom would beat him to death as it was costly hat and it was mom's favorite hat.He was very desperate about the hat so he started trying again n again and this time after few attempts he succeed.

We won't give our best until something important to us is at stake. When something important or something we love is at stake then we try to achieve it how so ever difficult it is. When something is at stake we prefer not to loose it so we give our 1000% to retain it.In every situation there is something at stake but we need to identify it . This applies in many fields also.

So if you want to be successful never depend on  back-up plan and always identify what is at stake, if you can identify you can at least give your full efforts..

There were a total of 150 members in the class room.For handling such a large class they had a special room having 5 boards with 5 projectors and one special board for teacher to write, which is known as the smart board.The teacher writes with a marker on the smart board, which is projected on the other boards.

        From the class of 150 students, we will talk about the guy with roll number 66. During the first year, he was sitting exactly at 3rd row right in front of the faculty.On his right side sat a boy(67) and left side was a girl(65).Some thing interesting about 66 is he was always in a dilemma of his condition - whether he wants to sleep or listen to the class.He tries to listen for half the class and used to feel sleepy in rest of the class.As we know most of the people have some questions for which they cant find any answer,this dilemma and the reason for that dilemma was the boys’ main concern.

                       He felt like whats going on with him.The first year passed but he was not able to find anything and all classes passed half sleeping and half trying to listen. Now he was more concerned about it.Still he was not able to figure out. Every time he thought of listening to the class, he could not concentrate. When first year passed, their places were changed and he went to one of the corners of the class room. After every year, it is a custom to change the seating arrangement of the students. 66 was happy as he thought a change in place would help him concentrate more.During the first year, he was thinking that he couldn’t concentrate more, as sir used to look into his eyes and teach along with a heavy breakfast he used to have in the morning.

               Then as the second year started he was fully excited,he was very attentive during the first few classes but after some time he was back to the same situation ,half listening half sleeping and this time he was really frustrated .66 wanted to find a permanent solution for this problem. Then one day he decided not to listen to the class at all and try to find some clues for his behavior.He started observing the class. He saw many people sleeping like hell in class and very few were writing and some were busy in their own world.
   
           Then he noticed the girl(65) beside him. She was writing what ever sir was saying point to point. He was in a shock to see how is she able to concentrate so much. She used to laugh at the comments 66 used to crack during class but and also used to note each and every word sir used to say.Then in shock which lead to a little eagerness in him to see what 67 was doing.He was dumb struck by seeing him. He was completely sleeping like a king in his bedroom, not caring about anything in the world.

         By seeing this, 66 had no words at all.66 was on little shock that day.He was thinking about the whole class and the things that he saw that day in class and that night he took a paper and pen and started writing..

" Why am I always in a dilemma of whether to sleep in class or listen to class?
Today i found my answer to the question, as it is the effect of my place of seat. On my right hand, the guy who always sleep nicely as if he is in his bed room without any fear and on the other hand, a girl who never sleeps and listens to all classes , more over writes her notes. Since i am in between them so i could never sleep nor listen to the class "

66 was feeling sleepy due to the influence of 67 and was feeling like listening class by seeing 65. So he was in a dilemma ...



Moral :- In this universe each and everything has an effect on others.Even if you don't want that but it will effect you in some or the other way. Everything that comes across in your life has some impact on your life which might be negative or positive. From our childhood we study that the environment and the surroundings you grow in, will have a major impact on you , which makes your behavioral and characteristic assumptions. Example , all parents ask us to make friendship with good students, toppers etc as they expect that their surroundings and the people around them can motivate us.


So always decide where you are going and which surrounding you want to live in...
